FCA Captain
An essential aspect of the FCA MD Club purpose is to “develop Christ-centered leaders in the lacrosse community who maximize their God-given purpose and potential on and off the field.” Captains are the future huddle leaders, coaches and ambassadors of FCA Lacrosse. The Captains Program develops, trains and equips current and former FCA MD Lacrosse players for leadership within the FCA MD Lacrosse Ministry. By providing opportunities to engage in the different areas of FCA Club ministry, captains will grow as leaders who strive to fulfill the FCA vision of “seeing the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.”
Captain Job Description

Commit to growing in faith through various means of discipleship (personal devotions, FCA Huddles, Church attendance, campus ministries, etc.)

Roles / Responsibilities

Captains Meetings
Captains will officially meet on a monthly basis with the FCA MD Lacrosse staff to ensure they are fulfilling their responsibilities in an excellent manner.

Fall/Spring Huddle Leader
Captains will be assigned to one of our eight youth teams (2023 to 2028). They will lead the team huddles and assist coaching players under the leadership of the head coach. Captains are responsible for attending all fall activities and one practice a week during the spring to engage with players and lead huddle.

Skills and Drills Coach
Assist clinicians in the various drills and competitions during our fall and winter skills sessions.

Retreat Huddle Leader
Lead your assigned team through the various activities and ministry at the FCA MD Club Retreat on December 7-9th at River Valley Ranch.

Volunteer Ambassador
Attend and/or serve at the following FCA Fellowship Events:
- Fall Service Day
- Thumbs Up Game
- Parents Date Night
- Charm City Youth Lacrosse Clinics
- FCA College Game Day
Why Serve as an FCA Captain?
You will develop leadership skills that you will take with you to your high school team, college team and wherever you go in life.
The Captains program gives you a chance to see what it would be like serving as an FCA Team Huddle Leader, Camp Huddle Leader and Fellows Program Intern.
You’ll make awesome relationships with players, coaches, FCA Staff and key people in the lacrosse community.
It will challenge you to grow as a leader and Christian.
Leading and serving with FCA Lacrosse is REALLY fun.
